Short version: if you sign up for my newsletter, I collect your email so I can send it to you. The site counts page views and asks a community GitHub activity service for my public contribution history. I don't sell your information, and you can leave the newsletter whenever you want. The longer version is below.
What I collect
Three things. If you sign up for the newsletter, I collect your email address (and your name, if the form asks for it). The site also counts page views, so I have a rough sense of what people actually read. That tracking runs through Omnisend, the same service that sends the newsletter, and it may set a cookie or use your browser's storage to do it. The portfolio asks github-contributions-api.jogruber.de for Viper's public GitHub contribution history; that service receives ordinary connection metadata such as your IP address and browser request details.
Who handles it
The newsletter and the page-view tracking both run through Omnisend, an email marketing service. Your email sits on their servers, not mine, and they handle it on my behalf. Their own privacy policy covers how they store and protect it. The contribution calendar uses the community-run GitHub Contributions API only to retrieve Viper's public activity. The calendar request omits credentials and referrer information.
Why I collect it
To send you the newsletter, understand which pages people visit, and show my public GitHub activity on the portfolio. I'm not building a profile on you.
What I won't do
I won't sell your email. I won't pass it to advertisers. And I won't sign you up for anything you didn't ask for. Newsletter data goes only to Omnisend; the contribution-calendar service receives no newsletter data.
Your choices
Every newsletter email has an unsubscribe link, and it works. One click and you're off the list for good. If you'd rather I wipe your data entirely, email me and I'll delete you from Omnisend.

Changes
If I change how this works, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
